- Carl Pei is not interested in the Android version.
- The Nothing Phone 1 will have to wait for Android 13.
- And users are waiting for support reply.
Nothing lives up to its hype, there are at least a few negative points to report. After I mentioned in the review that the Nothing Phone 1 has that others don’t already have, there are other detracting factors.
In my opinion, this includes very slow delivery of new Android versions. Couldn’t have been a better test stand. The Phone 1 wasn’t released until just before Android 13, but an update to Android 13 will be a long time coming.
Android 13: Fans have to wait a long time for the announcement
Carl Pei has already hinted on Twitter that “version numbers” aren’t interesting to him. It became a statement allowed. Android 13 is not expected to be released until the first half of 2023. A waiting period of at least four months.
And I don’t think there is any particular rush. Android 13 in January, February or March? I can’t rule it out, but I wouldn’t expect it either.

Support via Twitter: Responds quickly at first, but then not at all
For whatever reason, My Nothing Phone 1 adjusts the display’s color temperature to ambient light. But mostly very hot. I don’t want it. But there is no setting for this. So I contacted support. He was quick to help, at least at first.
But it quickly became clear that I wasn’t going to get a solution. And no reply for two weeks already. Will the problem be solved or not? Also no information on how and if I can exchange my device. Curious enough that the device has a feature that the manufacturer itself is not aware of.
I should have ordered from Amazon and not directly from Nothing.
