Last May, Square Enix surprised us by announcing a sale Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal and Square Enix Montreal to Embracer Group for just $300 million. now, Today it was revealed that this process has finally come to an end.
Through a new statement, Embracer Group revealed that the purchase of the three studios has been completed, and that the three companies are officially owned by, As well as more than 50 properties, among which we find Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Legacy of Kain and more. What was said about it was:
“All conditions to the transaction, including regulatory approvals, have now been met and the transaction can be completed. Therefore, Embracer completed the acquisition today.
The companies will form a twelfth operating group led by Phil Rogers and his management team.
The Company and the Embrace Group will provide further information at a later date.”
At this point it is unknown if Square Enix Montreal will change its name, although it is very likely that it will. Similarly, We currently have no plans for any of the more than 50 properties held by the Embracer Group.The new Tomb Raider game is out.
