Harry Potter: The Magic Awakens It is a free-to-play collectible card (CCG) and massively multiplayer online (MMO) game that incorporates strategic role-playing (RPG) gameplay centered around wizard duels. Ten years after the Battle of Hogwarts, players will relive all the milestones of wizarding education and immerse themselves in a fascinating new story, featuring many familiar faces from the original series as well as a large cast of new characters.
As players progress through the game, they learn spells that can be cast in card form. They must use these spells for themselves, develop unique strategies and discover winning combinations. On their own magical journey, they face increasingly difficult challenges, compete against other players and learn to master magic.
Special features include:
- Daily life of a Hogwarts student: From personalizing your character to getting your first wand, the Sorting Hat election ceremony and flying over the castle, there’s plenty to see and do at Hogwarts. As a first year, players can attend a rotating schedule of courses such as Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Care of Magical Creatures, History of Magic, and Divination. Each school subject has its own mini-games, goals and rewards.
- Fill the magic book: At release, over 70 spells and summons are available – each with unique effects and benefits. Players can build decks with infinite combinations of damage, control, support and defense sections to use magic in their own unique way. To further personalize play style, fans can equip Echoes, which give special boosts to stats, attributes and abilities – as well as Companion Cards, which summon powerful allies like Hermione Granger and Rubeus Hagrid to aid in battle.
- An immersive mass multiplayer world: Players join a social club with other fans and engage in special activities such as dragon eggs or boss battles where powerful creatures such as Thunderbirds can be pitted against each other. - Forbidden Forest: Fans will enter the Forbidden Forest alone or in multiplayer co-op to complete increasingly difficult challenges that offer greater rewards with each victory. Expect exclusive stories and magical creatures like centaurs, acromantulus, unicorns and more.
