When a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player discovered that the Lion King, one of Disney’s most famous landmarks from Pride Rock, had been added as an Easter egg in the new DLC: Hidden Treasures of Area Zero, the king was complete with a lion-themed Pokemon.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet became a huge success when the series released its first open-world game set in the Paladea region.
The game, where Pokemon eventually have more than a thousand pocket monsters in their Pokédex, has expanded further with the release of a new DLC: Hidden Treasures of Area Zero. A sequel titled Indigo Disc was released on December 14, 2023, and added more Pokémon and features.

One of them is an unexpected Easter egg from Disney’s The Lion King. One player was surprised to find the infamous Pride Rock from the classic film where Simba was imprisoned, but that wasn’t it.

Although it seemed like a coincidence that the rocks were so similar to Pride Rock in “The Lion King,” they said, “I was surprised the king was there.”

The short video shows the Lion King and his Pokémon sitting on a rock in the form of Litlio and looking up, confirming a direct reference to Disney.
The post went viral after gaining instant traction. This wasn’t surprising considering it’s one of the most famous scenes in the Disney franchise, and many players were quick to flood the comments to point it out.
“This is so amazing! I love it!” Another asked: “I wish there was a permanent Pokemon spawn point.” Gen_3_Trainer confirmed: “It actually spawns all the time. I’ve moved and gone out of deployment range a few times and it still spawns when I come back.”

Pride Rock is famous for being the home of the lions and their monarchy in The Lion King, where power is shared in the plot and many scenes revolve around it. Most famous is the birth of little Simba, who is first carried on a rock, marking the birth of a new heir to the throne of the Lion King.
