The number of cybersecurity security tools on the market is staggering, making it difficult to determine which ones to use. The Acronis has a tool that stands out in the pack. Read on to see if this tool is right for you.
Acronis has been known for its enterprise-grade backup solutions for years. Their award-winning platform lets you back up entire servers, data collection, desktops and more.
But Acronis is more than just a company that sells backup tools. Case in point hall Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office Application Although this MacOS and Windows desktop application includes encrypted cloud backup, it adds real-time protection against viruses and vulnerabilities, ransomware attacks and malicious files. In this day and age of constant threat, there must be extra protection.

Acronis Cyber Protect does not stop at home office security and backups. You will also find disk cloning and archiving in the application. As far as home and small business users are concerned, the two features that Acronis Cyber Protect will find most in the home office are security and backup.
Still, the biggest plus of Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office is that it doesn’t try to do too much. Other devices of a similar nature tend to be thrown into the entire kitchen sink (including the optimizer, firewall, etc.), most of which should be run by the OS itself. This redundancy can often cause more problems than their value.
With the Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office, you get the features you need for security and backup. This should be seen as a draw, as it greatly simplifies everything in a way that anyone can use this tool without the curve of learning. However, the number of features available depends on the version you purchase.

How well does acronym work?
The first thing I noticed about running the app on MacOS Monterey was how quickly the tool opened. As many similar tools become extra swollen, they may take a little longer to load. Another problem I have found with related platforms is during a scan (Figure A) Everything can be a crawl slow. Not so with Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office.
Figure A

While running a full system scan, I was still able to use my MacBook Pro without noticing the slightest drop in performance. Anyone who has had to deal with such scans on a production machine, you know how frustrating it can be. Well, Acronis has made it so that you don’t have to schedule those scans when you’re not using a computer.
Of course, due to the history of Acronis, the backup feature needs to be considered and the desktop client makes regularly scheduled cloud backups much easier. Scheduling, cleanliness, error handling and even elimination – all of which help prevent your backups from getting too big – are easy to set up (Figure B)

When you set up a backup with Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office, the files are stored in your cloud account.
Fortunately, Acronis thought about adding a clean-up tool to the mix, which lets you set how many backups you need to keep, otherwise your cloud account will be filled up very quickly. With this feature (Figure C), You can set the maximum number of versions and delete versions older than a certain date.

One thing to keep in mind is that only Advanced and Premium plans include cloud storage. The Advanced plan gives you 500 GB of storage and the premium plan starts with 1TB for free but allows you to upgrade to 5 TB. The cost for each step of storage looks like this (for a computer / advanced plan for the year):
- 1 TB – $ 124.00
- 2 TB – $ 164.00
- 3 TB – $ 204.99
- 4 TB – $ 244.00
- 5 TB – $ 284.99
If you know that you will need cloud storage, think carefully about how much space you need. If you are in doubt as to whether 500 GB will suffice, I suggest you go with a premium plan and choose the amount of cloud storage you need for the future, not for the present.
