This device will also underline the fact that Nokia is mostly a thing of the past.
We can’t expect any new smartphones under the Nokia banner, even if we still believe. Everything still indicates that HMD will continue with its own brand and let the license agreement with Nokia expire. Now the story is getting really embarrassing.
HMD wants to deny that Nokia will end mobile phones soon. They want to launch new devices and Nokia wants to be the manufacturer behind mobile devices. But now it seems clear that this is not about useful devices again, but about rehashed technology from 20 years ago.
The Nokia 3210 was released on March 18, 1999 and on this day HMD put the first teaser online announcing a new device and mentioning the birthday. It won’t be the first new version of an old bone that has the most media impact, but nothing more.
An icon returns this May. #NokiaPhone
