All iPhone 15 models are expected to feature USB-C ports for the first time this year, and while Lightning has many advantages over USB-C, another rumor today suggests that Apple may increase the standard to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. Not likely. Data transfer speed after transfer.
According to Liq Magn BooFor those who have previously shared details of Apple’s new cables, the USB-C cables in the iPhone 15 box are already limited to USB 2.0 data transfer speeds of 480Mbps, which is the same speed as Lightning.
Rumors about both models of the iPhone 15 Pro, which support high transfer speeds via USB-C, are consistent. According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 15 Pro models will “at least” support USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3. For comparison, the iPad Pro has a Thunderbolt port for transfer speeds of up to 40 Gbps, while entry-level iPads have a USB-C port that’s capped at just 480 Mbps.
And with faster data transfer speeds, the iPhone 15 Pro models can transfer videos and other file types much faster than the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
According to reports, every iPhone 15 comes with a braided USB-C charging cable that’s thicker (meaning more durable) and 50% longer than the Lightning cable that comes with current iPhone models. The cables are rumored to match possible new colors for the iPhone and will be available in at least black, white, yellow, blue and orange.
