Amazfit has announced that the Amazfit GTR 4 will receive an update to ZeppOS 3.0. Until now, the current version of the smartwatch software was only available on Amazfit Balance. Also, Cheetah Pro, T-Rex Ultra and Active get some new functions.
In September 2023, Amazfit introduced an exciting new smartwatch, the Balance (review). This is the manufacturer’s first watch with a payment function and is new ZeppOS 3.0 could come up with. Even the Amazfit Active (test) released at the end of 2023 was still based on ZeppOS 2.1. The Balance exclusivity is now over, as the manufacturer has confirmed that the Amazfit GTR 4 (test) will receive an update to version 3.0. The watch was originally launched in 2022 and is apparently similar to the Balance.
ZeppOS 3.0 makes it GTR 4
With the update to ZeppOS 3.0, the user interface has been revised and new functions have been added. According to the manufacturer, the operation of the operating system should now be more intuitive, among other things control center was amended. Additional apps and watch faces are also available for download.
Also, some new functions have been added including the new sports feature. Amazfit also confirmed that more watches will receive an update. Although there will be no upgrade to ZeppOS 3.0, new functions will be available. T-Rex Ultra, Falcon and Active users can look forward to it. The latter recently got an update that’s especially appealing to runners. T-Rex Ultra now has additional training plans that can be accessed through Zepp Coach. Both the Ultra and Falcon can now capture sports like pickleball and paddle tennis.
