Android 15 Beta 3 introduces a new wallpaper picker that lets you share AI wallpapers you’ve created on the Pixel 8+.
Android 15’s wallpaper selector/editor can better differentiate between the lock screen and home screen with a card-based interface. Tapping takes you to a full-screen preview – sans the two buttons at the bottom – where you can zoom in/out to make adjustments.
Tap the checkmark in the upper right corner to return to the map view. “Set Wallpaper” is the final step to choose whether you want to apply it to both surfaces or just a specific surface. As before, you can repeat the process to set independent wallpapers. (This process would benefit from a little simplification.)
This new map user interface on the Pixel Fold is particularly suited for internal screen previews.
While interacting with the AI background (h/t @the_husbandalorian Under the topic, you will see the pen and share button at the bottom. The edit icon is an existing feature to quickly change prompts, but is new to these generative wallpapers to share. The feature is already present in Emoji Workshop and will meet the high demand of users.
Since beta 3, you can open the system share sheet, but the background file cannot currently be downloaded or uploaded.
