Anton / Bauer has announced VCLX NM2A free-standing battery block designed specifically to power high light cameras and lighting used in large productions.
The new VCLX NM2 delivers 600Wh of comparable power at 14.4V, 28V and 48V which allows it to be used to get a large array of different equipment on set.

The VCLX NM2 is a follow-up to Anton / Bauer’s popular VCLX battery, which has received an Academy Award for scientific and technological achievement.
The new battery has an XLR3 and two XLR4 connectors that provide a constant 24A current at 14.4V from a 600Wh NiMH battery, dual simultaneous high current output at 16V at 28V or 12A at 48V.
The VCLX NM2 now charges twice as fast as the previous VCLX The VCLX 2 magnetic charger is attached to the side of the VCLX NM2 which allows you to charge the battery up to 0-100% in just 5 hours.
The VCLX NM2 weighs 29.35 pounds / 13.3 kg and Anton / Bauer says it was designed to withstand the rigors of set life, including the grip truck and the shipping case. The battery casing is made of hard anodized aluminum with over-molded end caps and handle grip. It is claimed to feature an efficient thermal design with passive cooling so that it makes no noise.
The sealed case is water-resistant up to 8.5 “/ 21.6cm.
Users can see real-time onboard diagnostics via a 2.4 ”color LCD screen, meaning batteries and equipment can be monitored to ensure maximum performance. VCLX Smart technology calculates everything powered by XLR3, XLR4 or USB for maximum power efficiency.
The new fleet management allows full command of the entire battery fleet. The VCLX NM2 sends status information including power, cycle calculations, temperature and time-stamped reports. Data can be downloaded directly from the battery via built-in Wi-Fi or to USB storage. Owners can save time by manually checking batteries for healthier inventory with more uptime
