(Pocket-Lint) – Apple is bringing new features to the iPhone when it launches iOS 16 later this year, along with some notable new options on Apple Pay.
Apple Pay will later enable, for example, to split customer purchases into four categories, paying zero interest-free fees – much like installment payment features on PayPal and Amazon’s retail sites.
It’s not yet clear if it will only initially be available in the United States, or if it will be rolled out to other regions, but it certainly sounds like a feature that will be used extensively.
In addition, Apple announced during WWDC that the tap-to-pay feature would be launched in the state later this month.
This allows retailers to receive direct contactless payments on an iPhone. They will not need a separate communication payment machine.
It will be used by big and small stores, even market traders. And it will accept even non-contact payment cards.
Lots of new features are coming to iOS next month, including new lock screen functionality and the ability to edit and retrieve messages.
