With the P8 Max, Arctic introduced a new fan for the compact system. Compared to the conventional model, the speed has again been significantly increased. The fan is now available in the manufacturer’s online shop, on Amazon and from other retailers for 8.99 euros. The suggested retail price is 12.99 euros.
The Arctic P8 Max is an 80mm fan with PWM control. The fan offers an extended speed range 500 bis 5.000 RPM, which is a significant upgrade over the P8. The older model could spin a maximum of 3,000 revolutions per minute. At low loads, the whole thing shuts down completely to enable even silent operation.
According to Arctic, the Max model achieves a particularly high static pressure of 5.3 mmH2O, making the fan particularly suitable for narrow server housings. Efficiency is said to be improved compared to the P8. Accordingly, the fan requires half the power at the same speed (3,000 RPM). Costs are subject to that 0,669 watts. Moreover, a double ball bearing is used, which is designed for permanent operation. Expected runtime is 500,000 hours.
