With the launch of the Pixel 6 series, Google has also expanded the smart capabilities of its Android smartphones. Part of this is direct commands or shortcuts, where Google Assistant responds without even the hotword “Hey Google”. These will be extended soon.

While this is a welcome addition to Shortcuts, it’s also the only planned addition that was announced a month before the Pixel 7 series was launched. I think it’s a bit of a shame that direct orders weren’t more widespread throughout the year.
