The Next G Alliance is an initiative to take North America’s wireless technology leadership forward over the next decade
ATIS ‘NextG Alliance has released a report outlining the uses and applications for future 6G networks.
The report, titled ‘6G Applications and Use Cases’, examines the drivers of future applications that have the potential to shape the development of the next generation of mobile communication technology. The NextG Alliance report shows how new applications, many of which are still being imagined, will affect virtually every aspect of society and industry.
“By taking a proactive approach to 6G applications and their potential, the NextG Alliance is building a North American perspective on what is needed for the success of many of the applications that will shape the future of 6G.” Miller. “The goal is to encourage innovation so that emerging applications can drive the evolution of 6G networks.”
The report presents four categories of uses: network-enabled robotics and autonomous systems, multi-sensory extended reality, distributed sensing and communications, and personalized user experience. Requirements for this section and features for use are included in the report, ATIS said.
These future applications are integrated into the “Six Brave Goals” published in February 2022 in the Next G Alliance Report: Roadmap to 6G. Goals cover: trust, security and resilience; Experience an advanced digital world; Cost-effective solutions to expand all aspects of network architecture; Distributed cloud and communications systems; An AI-native network; Energy efficiency and environmental sustainability are at the forefront of decision making throughout the life cycle.
Ki-dong Lee, Assistant VP, LG Electronics USA, and Chair of the Next G Alliance Application Working Group, said: The team and its members. It addresses the four basic uses and provides insightful insights, based primarily on in-depth consideration of current and past generations of mobile services and market trends. The result is a high-level insight into how human-centric 6G services can help improve the quality of everyday life. “
Launched by the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS), the NextG Alliance is an initiative to take North America’s wireless technology leadership to the next decade, with a primary focus on private-sector-led efforts such as unproven 6G systems. .
Last month, ATIS ‘NextG Alliance and Japan’s Beyond 5G Promotion Consortium (B5GPC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support future 6G wireless networks.
The MoU specified how the two companies could exchange information and publications regarding the 6G wireless network. It also covers how they can be jointly engaged in collaborative research and development projects, including organizing international communication and exchange events and establishing and implementing cooperative joint ventures and programs.
In December 2021, ATIS’s NextG Alliance and Korea’s 5G Forum signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance cooperation in the next generation of mobile communications.
Collaboration between the two organizations may also include: exchanging information on trends in 6G technology; Discuss the creation of a 6G roadmap; Collaboration on global standardization and spectrum; Analysis of the socio-economic aspects of 6G and other areas of agreement between the two agencies regarding 6G promotion.
