An improvement in the charging process now seems to be confirmed for the Xiaomi 14.
With a maximum of 67 watts (per cable), the regular Xiaomi 13 was already ahead of its competition. Google stuck to 30 watts and Samsung maxed out at 45 watts. Until now, Apple didn’t even have USB-C as a connection. Now Xiaomi wants to take the next step, even though its competitors are still loading very slowly.
The new Xiaomi 14 smartphones (expected for November) are currently being regulated and tested or certified by the first authority. Of course, this includes everything related to the power supply of devices. Already the Xiaomi 14 should increase the maximum speed, the new smartphone currently has a maximum of 90 watts Listed. 23 is more than its predecessor and a nice high number for advertising.
However, no changes should be made with the Xiaomi 14 Pro. The 120 watts that the Xiaomi 13 Pro can already offer is very good. I don’t think wireless charging would be better because at 50 watts it already offers a lot. However in the beginning you will rarely have the right charger.
Xiaomi is leading the way and no one is following it
Personally, I don’t need numbers this big, but my Pixel 7 Pro loads especially slowly and it can be annoying. It doesn’t happen often in everyday life that I need to reload quickly, but it still happens often. However, Google with the Pixel 8 or Samsung with the Galaxy S24 don’t seem to be improving on the issue.
