Robot Squid has announced the Early Access launch of their highly anticipated PvP team arena shooter “Big Fat Battle”. steam For November 8th.
The game combines roguelite gear mechanics with the concept of knockout arena shooters and constantly changing circular objectives. Teams start with 16-on-16 players and are reduced to a 3-on-3 final over five rounds. The striking art style and intense gameplay make for a fast-paced yet absurdly exciting gaming experience that brings together a variety of crazy characters, including giant babies, viking warriors and garden gnomes. Big Fat Battle is full of parodies, and more observant players may recognize characters and positions like Supreme Leader Jim, a fictional, chubby dictator.
Now playable on Steam, Big Fat Battle’s Early Access offers three unique maps, in-depth character and item development, and of course, the ability to team up with friends. But don’t let the absurdity fool you: Big Fat Battle is built on a solid shooter engine with 60 tick rate servers (CTO previously worked with Call of Duty) and will appeal to both casual and competitive gamers.
Players battle through five rounds, trying to avoid elimination each time while the worst performing players are eliminated. They traverse different environments, collect coins to upgrade their equipment and empower their characters with powerful abilities. Levels also feature Mario Kart-esque power-ups that provide short-term benefits such as unlimited ammo, mutant powers, and even increasing the size of an opponent’s head to become a sniper’s dream.
Players can party like no other at the Neon Zombie Music Festival, make their way to a mysterious island where dinosaurs roam freely and fight for survival on the glowing decks of the space station. Each map promotes a different play style, with varying degrees of narrow paths, open areas and verticality.
With intense combat and an art style that keeps everyone entertained, Big Fat Battle appeals to players of all ages and offers a variety of battles that can keep you entertained for hours.
