Chauvet has teased its new onAir IP Panel IP65 series of soft light LED panels. These all-weather fixtures were designed to be used on indoor to outdoor projects, including music videos, red carpet events, etc.
It will be interesting to know what features they offer apart from having an IP65 rating.
The onAir IP panels are available in three versions:
All three models in the onAir IP family have a 90+ CRI and equally impressive TM-30 score, as well as +/- Green adjustment, and onboard emulated red-shift control via CRMX wireless control and DMX.
We don’t know any more details about these lights at this stage. Apart from the prices:
Back in September last year, Chauvet acquired Kino Flo. Kino Flo has been very quiet of late and it has been quite some time since they released any new products. This acquisition was probably the reason why.
This was an interesting move by Kino Flo, however, the LED lighting market has become increasingly saturated over the last 3-5 years. Competition is fierce and maybe this acquisition was the only way for Kino Flo to continue.
These could very well be the first fixtures that Chauvet has announced that are aimed more at the TV / Film industry since their acquisition of Kino Flo.
Who is Chauvet?
Entrepreneurs Albert and Berenice Chauvet started Chauvet as a distributor of rope lights back in 1990. They were operating from a warehouse in North Miami Beach, and they quickly became a developer and OEM supplier of entertainment lighting for the mobile DJ and club markets.
In 1998 they relocated to Hollywood, California and since that time they expanded to make their own LED lights and lighting systems that were mainly for the entertainment industry.
In 2017, they acquired ChamSys Ltd, the maker of the MagicQ industry-standard controllers.
Chauvet is well known in the entertainment industry, but they are now looking to expand further into TV or Film applications.
