Pixel phones sometimes have glaring weaknesses that should eventually be fixed.
One can say that Google’s portfolio has some advantages that other manufacturers don’t offer. The Pixel 7a differs little from the Pixel Fold when it comes to the functions made possible by the chipset. There are no other problems with the software. Unfortunately, I have to look at it from another perspective as well.
The problem runs through all price ranges
The Pixel Fold may have the same weaknesses as a 500 euro smartphone, although it is much more expensive at 1,899 euros. The experiment finally arrived and on the same day, three weeks later, the sun came out again permanently. During my short walk, the bigger problem quickly became apparent.
Although the two screens are bright enough, they fade very quickly when exposed to sunlight. A thing that Pixel smartphones do not have right now and need to get rid of urgently. It can’t be that I can only use a smartphone for 60 seconds outside of this price range before the brightness automatically decreases and I can’t do anything about it.
My Galaxy S23 Ultra got brighter in sunlight, and did so consistently, so I can use it outside in the summer without any problems. With Google cell phones, Tensor chipsets are likely to have heat development issues, just the opposite is happening, and it’s now in all price ranges. A bitter disappointment.
I find it unreasonable in all price ranges, because it’s about usability in general situations. During the summer months you can often get in the way of the sun and then my display should still be readable. But it’s hard when you use a pixel. Hopefully this will end with the Pixel 8 series.
