At NAB 2022, Core SWX has announced its new Powerbase Edge Link and Powerbase Edge Lite battery packs.
The Powerbase Edge Link and Powerbase Edge Lite were primarily designed to power smaller-sized cameras where you need longer run times and / or you also need to power additional accessories. The whole idea is that you place the Powerbase modules under your camera.
Powerbase EDGE LINK
The Powerbase Edge Link allows you to power your camera and its accessories for more than 12 hours. This 14.8V 70wh battery has a maximum continuous draw of 8A and can be linked with other packs using its V-mount to double or triple its capabilities.
The name “Link” comes from the added linking feature so when using the battery as a V-mount pack, you can have multiple packs “linked” to provide 140wh or 210wh on-board for additional runtime while still meeting air travel safety standards when the packs are separated.
It features a dovetail-style quick release plate and multiple 1/4 ″ -20 threads. Two unregulated D-Tap ports on the device can power your on-camera monitor or wireless transmitter, while one USB Type-A output and one USB Type-C output can charge anything from mobile devices to laptops. Another 8V output is compatible with legacy battery paddle cables to attach to your DSLR camera or camcorder.
You can monitor your battery’s status via the built-in runtime LCD. The Powerbase EDGE LINK can be recharged with a separately available D-Tap or V-mount charger.
