For a long time they were considered the epitome of the modern smartphone aesthetic: curved displays that convey a sense of elegance and progressiveness with their strongly curved screen edges. In any case, this was the manufacturer’s plan, which has now changed again a few years later.
It seems that the era of curved screens is coming to an end. From 2025 they will slowly but surely disappear from the Android world. A whole series of new flagship phones will be released in 2024 that will no longer rely on curved screens.

The reason for this change is modern production techniques. Although curved displays were previously used to make the edges of the screen appear narrower, newer processes no longer require this.
Manufacturers like Oppo, OnePlus, Honor and Xiaomi have already switched to flat displays in their current flagship models. In fact, the biggest names outside of the Android world have never jumped on the curve trend.
And this trend away from curved screens continues among the middle class. It has already been revealed through leaks and official images that manufacturers like Honor and OnePlus are also moving away from curved screens.
