Sequel to the sci-fi epic “the hill” Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the movie may have a sandy ride in 2024. Amid two contentious labor strikes in Hollywood, Warner Bros. Film Group is seriously considering postponing the movie starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya from its current Nov. 3 date to next year, three people with knowledge of the talks told Variety.
The film is a co-production with Legend Entertainment and both parties have to agree on a new release date, an inside source said. Legend has yet to be contacted about a possible change, they added. Another source familiar with Warner Bros. said the releases are proceeding largely as planned and no official talks have taken place, but noted that the length of the Union War is completely unpredictable. Spokespeople for Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment declined to comment.
Also, Warner Bros. is evaluating potential new dates for the highly anticipated musical film.purple color“, which features Oprah Winfrey as a producer, as well as DC Studios for the sequel.”Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom“, according to sources. The possible reshuffle of the date is due to a strike by the union SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America, who are at loggerheads with showbiz producers over a new contract.
like a movie”Tila 2” will benefit greatly from the participation of its star cast, which includes Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin. Current union restrictions mean these actors cannot publicize past or future work done by companies affected by the strike.
That Warner Bros. is considering looking ahead suggests the studio isn’t sure any union strikes will be resolved by mid-fall. “purple colorand its sequelsAquaman” are currently slated for December 20 and December 25 respectively. A title such as “The color is purple“, noted an industry insider, it will depend on a strong awards campaign. Campaigns for the Academy Awards and Golden Globes could be affected by the prolonged strike.
Warner Bros. certainly isn’t the only studio in town weighing in on the release schedule. “Major movie in the same time frame as its sequelthe hill“included”MarvelsDisney’s “November 10th and the Franchise Reboot”The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes17 November from Lionsgate. Sony’s Columbia Pictures label will also carry the film.”Napoleon” from Apple Studios to theaters Nov. 22, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Joaquin Phoenix.

Editor’s note: This strike has lasted long enough and the worst part is that the consumers are the worst affected.
