Dell first announced the XPS 13 Plus notebook back at CES in January. Dell’s new notebook is now available to order, starting at a palatable price of $ 1,299. The XPS 13 Plus is a sleek, powerful notebook that promises to combine style and performance. The redesigned notebook is the first XPS 13 notebook to use Intel’s 12th Gen Intel Core, using a 28W processor, up from 15W in the prior generation. The redesigned notebook has larger fans to match the increased power, supporting 55% better airflow.
The XPS 13 Plus is ‘minimalist and modern’ with a sleek zero-lattice keyboard and a capacitive touch function row at the top. You may notice that the laptop doesn’t seem to have a trackpad, but it’s there and delivers haptic feedback to imitate ‘clicking.’
The 13.4-inch display offers up to 4K + resolution with an OLED display. The notebook uses Dell InfinityEdge display technology that offers a nearly borderless experience. This display option offers DisplayHDR with brightness up to 500 nits and 90% of DCI-P3 coverage. Additional options include a 3.5K resolution with 100% DCI-P3 and two FHD + options with a touchscreen or a non-touchscreen. The two higher-resolution options are touchscreens.
The thin notebook uses onboard memory with options ranging from 8GB to 32GB. As for storage, SSDs range from 256GB to 2TB. There are no graphics options. The XPS 13 Plus always comes equipped with Intel Iris Xe graphics. The notebook should offer plenty of performance for photo editing, although intense video editing could prove a bit too demanding for the integrated graphics.
The XPS 13 Plus has two Thunderbolt 4 ports (USB Type-C) with DisplayPort and Power Delivery. The notebook ships with a USB-C to USB-A v3.0 adapter. The notebook can charge up to 80% battery life in less than an hour, thanks to Dell’s Express Charge 2.0 technology.
The Dell XPS 13 Plus’s dimensions (H x W x D) are 15.28 x 295.3 x 199.04mm (0.6 x 11.63 x 7.84 “) and its starting weight is 1.23kg (2.71 lbs). It’s a compact, lightweight notebook. It’s constructed using CNC machined low-carbon aluminum and comes in two colors: platinum or graphite.
The Dell XPS 13 Plus is available to order now, starting at around $ 1,300. Configurations can range up to over $ 2,000 as you start to upgrade individual components. You can play around with different configurations on Dell’s website.
