Indie game publisher Nordcurrent Labs has just teamed up with developer Misfit Village for the upcoming first-person horror investigation game Go Home Annie. When Go Home Annie launches on PC and consoles in 2024, set out to uncover the mysteries behind a variety of unexplained phenomena at the shadowy paranormal investigation agency, the SCP Foundation.
In Go Home Annie, you take on the role of Annie, a low-level employee of the SCP Foundation, a secret organization whose mission is to protect and contain paranormal entities and protect the general public from them. As an employee of SCP’s replication department, you are tasked with testing artificially engineered paranormal events. You must solve puzzles, speak with unusual entities, and explore multiple paths to unlock the secrets behind SCP’s replication division.
Why would an organization with the motto “Protect, Contain, Protect” create a department for replicating miracles and paranormal entities? Why are you tasked with testing the same transcripts over and over with seemingly never-changing results? You must make tough decisions to discover your true purpose and change the course of your destiny.
“We’ve been big fans of the community-generated fiction that SCP Foundation produces for years, and we wanted to make our own contribution in the form of a game,” said Mladen Bosnjak, Creative Director of Misfit Village. “If you’re unfamiliar with SCP fiction, don’t worry, because Go Home Annie offers a unique horror adventure that will make any horror fan’s hair stand on end!”
“We were immediately blown away by the sheer imagination and execution of Go Home Annie,” said Andreas Mackevicius, head of publishing at Nordcurrent Labs. “It was immediately clear to us that the mad geniuses of Misfit Village have a deep understanding of horror and an original approach to the genre that is full of wonder, excitement and creative energy.”
