Disney+ It continues to grow, and that doesn’t always mean more content joins the platform. Today it was revealed that the streaming service will be subject to a new price hike in the US. However, it’s not all bad news, as a new playback option will be added.
Starting October 17, 2024, monthly and annual Disney+ subscription prices will increase in the US. At the moment only growth is being talked about in this country. But the possibility of something similar happening year-round in other regions, such as Mexico, cannot be ruled out. These changes are:
- Monthly plan (with ads): $7.99 to $9.99
- Monthly plan (no ads): $13.99 to $15.99
- Annual plan (no ads): $139.99 to $159.99
now, The playlist option will continue to be available from September 4 in the US. Here, all users will be able to enjoy hundreds of content continuously. The option will start with just ABC News Live, focused on news, and a playlist focused on preschool content, including series, shorts, etc. Here’s what Disney describes about this innovation:
“Playlists are the latest example of how we offer our customers the best value and experience every time they open Disney+. Be it news, children’s content, popular genres, hit TV shows or blockbusters, there will always be something for everyone for a relaxed viewing experience based on season and interest.”
As the price rises, Playlist Continue will only be available in the US at this time, though it’s likely we’ll see more regions in the future. Relatedly, these are the Disney+ premieres in August. Similarly, Deadpool and Wolverine Won’t be arriving on this platform anytime soon.
Author’s Note:
The price hike is ridiculous. Not only is the amount of money large enough, but these changes happen every two or three months, something that only affects users.
