Vespid Cyber Primus lenses feature a unique data interface connection port. This allows the lens to output focusing and aperture data that can be applied to post-production and virtual production. When used with DJI Leader Range Finder (RS) and RS3 Pro, the connection automatically speaks to the system so you don’t have to calibrate the lenses. You simply connect a cable from the lens to the DJI focus motor, and it, instead, communicates directly with the LiDAR system.
As far as lenses are concerned, they can be found in three different focal lengths: 35mm, 50mm and 75mm. All three lenses are T2.1. Lenses can be found on PL or EF mounts.
They are all reasonably light, weighing 1.15 kg and under which the DJI RS3 Pro combines with a small digital movie camera or a mirrorless hybrid.
The DJI LiDAR Range Finder (RS) enables users to have very precise autofocus when their camera is mounted on the DJI RS 3 Pro, even when working on fast moving objects. The Range Finder is designed to make it easier to focus in dynamic conditions and has 43,200 ranging points within a 46 detection area for accurate focus in blurred conditions.
The Range Finder has a built-in camera with 30mm focal length and 70 ° field of view to ensure accurate focus. It also has wide and spot modes so that operators can automatically detect the focus or adjust the focus manually. It is compatible with RS focus motors to provide accurate cinema-style autofocus when you are using a manual lens. Range Finder mounts on your RS stabilizer or camera using its cold shoe or 1/4 ″ -20 thread and is powered by a USB Type-C power cable, which adds a well-integrated autofocus to your camera.
Compared to conventional focusing technology, LiDAR focusing systems do not have to rely on the texture of the subject’s surface. This is especially effective in low-light environments or in complex situations with multiple subjects and results in exceptionally stable focus on the footage.
It supports both wide mode and spot mode. In wide mode, the range finder automatically detects the subject and follows the focus. In spot mode, users can manually frame or tap the subject to focus.
The pairing of the LiDAR Range Finder with the new Focus motor makes cinematic autofocus possible in manual lenses after calibration. Easily press the M button once on Gimbal to quickly switch between manual focus and autofocus to meet your needs for both modes.
