Fntastic, the alleged developer of The Day Before, claimed in a bizarre online statement that its controversial and disastrous game was the victim of a hate campaign.
Fntastic, which reportedly shut down just days after its December 7, 2023 release, reached out to X/Twitter to address “misinformation” posted online surrounding the game’s development.
In answer to their own question: “Why do they say the released game is not like the trailers and why was the game cancelled?” Fntastic claims that it has “implemented everything shown in the trailers”. Before admitting he wasn’t. Some “secondary features” like parkour are not included.
He then compared the previous day to “a test where you have to count the pink things in a room and then remember the blue things” and said: “The negative bias of some bloggers who make money off of hate has affected the perception of this “game.”
“Days Before”, which was promised to be an open-world multiplayer online survival game, turned out to be a problematic shooter. “This utterly disappointing online zombie survival shooter does nothing of what was promised in the years leading up to its disastrous Early Access release,” said IGN in a rare 1/10 review.
Fntastic claimed ratings improved over the weekend as early bugs were fixed, but “the hate campaign has already done significant damage.” In reality, however, the previous day’s numbers decreased day by day, and on December 11th the game ended up in the list of the 10 worst rated games of all time on Steam.
The developer added: “However, after the sale closed, many people wrote to us saying that bloggers cheated them and that they liked the game and wanted access to it. We also heard that petitions were created to continue development, and on the black market, the game costs $200. outgrown, and some have begun to make their own changes.
Fntastic then urged fans of the game to follow it on social media “to see what happens next,” adding to the confusion surrounding the supposedly dead developer. Questions arose after the company was launched after an apparent attempt to change its name. However, Fntastic denied this and insisted that the company has already been shut down. There is that too Report The company’s CEO is already working on a new game.

The Day Before was Steam’s favorite game before a series of strange events made fans even more suspicious and fearful. Fntastic has been accused of plagiarizing other games such as The Division, Call of Duty, The Last of Us, Cyberpunk 2077, Grand Theft Auto 5 and various others, and a trademark dispute has also complicated matters.
In November 2023, seven months after Fntastic promised no further delays, it postponed Day One again, this time indefinitely, although the PC version would enter early access a month later. The launch obviously didn’t go well, but due to Fntastic’s supposed shutdown, a refund was imposed on all subscribers. “It’s happening,” the developer said at the time.
