Earlier in the week there was news that we can consider fatal, as it was officially announced that the Electronic Entertainment Expo has come to an end. ESA, who have been in charge of organizing it for years. Even so, people think it’s all over with the company, but it seems they have a new plan in hand and it’s basically like starting from scratch, with a reboot of how they view these types of events.
The organization commented that E3 This will leave a void among people, although there are many other organizations out there, as they will want to have something that combines the best of both worlds, i.e. presentation of the game to the press but also admission to the general public. It was tried to be implemented during the last presentations, but it didn’t work at all, although they are already looking for solutions so that the same results that started a short time ago are not obtained.
This was mentioned by Director General Md ESA, Stanley Pierre-Louis:
Different companies have different needs for marketing their work. For some companies go right to a consumer event. For others it’s working with press and business partners to improve their message. It is different for every company. Depending on the game, depending on the product, a different type of event is required. We’ve seen companies find ways to reach their audience when they want to reach them. That’s what makes this industry exciting and makes it the right time to explore different options for what we can contribute to this industry.
We will explore ways to bring everyone together to tell a story about art. I don’t know how it will turn out. We’re spending time thinking about what the narrative is, because it’s a good time for the industry to reform and renew the way the public thinks about video games. But those are premature ideas.
With this in mind, the company will think about how to incorporate current trends into a product that companies want to join, incl Nintendo, Xbox and Microsoft. Of course, this won’t drive away the internet video streaming business. But now it will be a place for people to try out new features that will arrive sometime in the year.

Editor’s note: We certainly can’t live without a great video game event, even if it doesn’t have the grandeur offered by E3. Nevertheless, that space is essential for media from around the world to meet in one place to talk to developers.
