– Mega Man: Dr. Wily’s Revenge (Rockman World) – 1991
– Description: It is the first game in the Mega Man series for the Game Boy. It contains elements from the first two NES games, combining enemies and levels from both. The game features four Robot Masters from Mega Man 1 (Cut Man, Ice Man, Fire Man, Bomb Man) and four Robot Masters from Mega Man 2 (Flash Man, Quick Man, Bubble Man, Hit Man). The player must defeat these enemies to face Dr. Willy in his castle.
– Mega Man II (Rockman World 2) – 1992
– Description: A sequel to Dr. Wily’s Revenge, this game mixes elements from Mega Man 2 and Mega Man 3 from the NES. Includes eight robot masters: four from Mega Man 2 (Metal Man, Air Man, Wood Man, Clash Man) and four from Mega Man 3 (Top Man, Hard Man, Magnet Man, Needle Man). Again, after defeating the Robot Masters, Mega Man must face Dr. Wily.
– Mega Man III (Rockman World 3) – 1993
– Description: The third Game Boy title combines elements from the NES’s Mega Man 3 and Mega Man 4 Includes eight robot masters: four from Mega Man 3 (Spark Man, Gemini Man, Snake Man, Shadow Man) and four from Mega Man 4 (Dust Man, Skull Man, Dive Man, Drill Man). Additionally, it introduces Punk, a new robot master designed specifically for this installment.
– Mega Man IV (Rockman World 4) – 1993
– Description: This game takes elements from Mega Man 4 and Mega Man 5 from the NES. Features eight Robot Masters: four from Mega Man 4 (Ring Man, Bright Man, Pharaoh Man, Toad Man) and four from Mega Man 5 (Crystal Man, Napalm Man, Stone Man, Charge Man). It introduced Ballad, another Game Boy-exclusive Robot Master, and a new type of currency, “P Chips”, which could be used to purchase upgrades and weapons.
– Mega Man V (Rockman World 5) – 1994
– Description: This installment is unique in the Game Boy series in that it is not based on any NES game. Instead of facing traditional robot masters, Mega Man fights “Stardroids”, a new group of enemies themed around the solar system (Mercury, Venus, Mars, etc.). The game also introduces the robotic cat Tango, who helps Mega Man in his missions. The story focuses on Terra and the fight against the Stardroids, who threaten Earth.
