These days, it seems like subscription services are everywhere, even those that weren’t before, like Google Chrome. It’s like this, One of the most popular browsers now has a cost. Fortunately, the free version we’re all used to is still available.
In a statement, Google announced Chrome Enterprise Premium, a subscription service that offers additional security options in the browser. For just $6 a month, all interested users get access to four more featureswhich uses artificial intelligence to ensure that internet surfers are able to keep their personal information safe.
While anyone can purchase Chrome Enterprise Premium, It is important to note that the new subscription service is primarily focused on organizations. In total, here we can find four completely new functions that we cannot access without paying:
- Data Loss Prevention: Helps prevent accidental leaks of sensitive data and provides protection against malware and phishing.
- Detect security threats via websites or unwanted users: Browsers can now mark users, domains and data as high-risk files for their protection.
- Secure data and remotely analyze the security of files and websites.
- Apply specific controls to web pages and create different categories to avoid security risks.
All of this will be available to those who pay a $6 monthly subscription, something that may be a big shock to some, but not to others. As Google points out, The plan mainly focuses on organizations, so if you haven’t joined the service, you won’t be missing out on much. Relatedly, Google changes the login page. Similarly, Google will delete data from Chrome’s incognito mode.
Editor’s note:
Not everything has to be a subscription service, but at least Google has made it clear that the focus here is on businesses, who can easily pay $6 a month for each of their employees. If you’re someone who uses Chrome to watch YouTube and your social networks, there’s no need to pay for a plan.
