Google is building its Chrome browser (Opens in new tab) Several new security features have been added to Apple’s mobile platform.
A Blog post (Opens in new tab)Nasim Sedaghat, Google’s product manager, has announced the launch of five new features in Chrome on iOS, including two security-based features ported from the desktop version.
But the company is also looking to make Chrome on iOS more attractive and interactive for users everywhere, especially as the browser war heats up.
Chrome on iOS
The first is advanced secure browsing, which Google says will help reduce the threat of phishing or malware attacks. When enabled, the tool predicts and warns users if web pages are dangerous. In addition, when users type their credentials into a website, Chrome can now alert them if the information is compromised in the event of a previous data breach and suggests an update.
The second security-based upgrade is the ability to fill in passwords on any app, since Chrome on iOS now has built-in Google Password Manager, allowing users to automatically fill in their login credentials on any app.
Other newly introduced features include faster translation of pages from different languages, on-device machine learning, and makes it easier for users to discover new content or start a new search after being away for a while.
“You’ll still be able to find all of your recent tabs, but we’re making it easy to browse content, start a new search, or easily return to the sites you visit often,” Google said, adding that this feature will soon be built into Android. .
The final change, Chrome Action, will allow users to save time by typing the title of an action into the address bar. The address bar will be able to predict when a user may benefit from Chrome Action, based on words already typed.
