A new version of Android’s taskbar is perfect for smartphones and their small screens.
We didn’t necessarily expect it, but Google has a whole new function for Android phones. The introduction could be planned for this fall when Android 15 launches. Pixel devices will benefit first, as Android 15 will be available first.
Google introduced a taskbar for tablets and foldables with Android some time ago. This concept will be modified with Android 15 and will probably be adapted for Android smartphones as well. This can make multi-tasking on the phone a lot more fun again.
Android 15 usually brings a new version of the taskbar: permanently displayed or automatically hidden. However, it has now been discovered in the latest Android 15 beta 4 that there is a third version, namely adapted for smartphone displays.

The only downside: no information about the specific plans behind it. Is Google really bringing this new taskbar to smartphones with Android 15 and can it just be activated or will it eventually come to nothing?
