It was actually discontinued for Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL, but now another update is coming to smartphones.
Theoretically, the update guarantee for both models expired in October 2021, but Google has continued to provide new updates since then. An update was published in January. Then again in February. Since then it was quiet again. Monthly updates for March, April and May were no more. Now Google is surprising us with another patch that will roll out on devices this June.
Google is adding features even though the update guarantee has expired
VoLTE can also be used for roaming in the United States. Says Google on a special page. This is probably interesting for a few users. Even more surprising is that this update for the entire Pixel series was also released for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, although the guarantee of the update expired many months ago.
The update probably only comes with VoLTE roaming.
In June 2022, Google released a software update that enabled VoLTE roaming for many US and global carriers. This allows many Pixel devices Travel to the United States with VoLTE, If your carrier supports VoLTE roaming. Contact your carrier for more information.
Google provides updates based on general Android 12 and not Android 12.1 or Android 12L.
