Google Pixel: thanks to less leaks for new production?

Google wants to open more production sites for the Pixel series and is moving to India to do so.

In recent years, Google has increasingly relied on Vietnam as a manufacturing location for its Pixel devices, and this has been a major problem. Prototypes hit the market early, photos repeatedly showed the new Pixel devices in advance, and components often came from Vietnam. A new location would likely solve these problems as well.

Google will power More devices will be made in India after the Pixel 8. Which also correlates with companies claiming more “Made in India”. Google is complying with this request and will manufacture in India so that it can be sold there as well. The Pixel 8 Pro is currently being manufactured in China. But it is known that companies increasingly want to go outside of China.

Google hasn’t given too many details about manufacturing in India and intends to reveal more about it in the coming months. The choice of other manufacturing locations ultimately has something to do with cost; Google also wants to keep its hardware margins as high as possible and orient itself accordingly.

However: Google is not the only one going to India; The iPhone 15 is partially made there.
