With the March update 2025, Google Google comes up with a new fraud marking function on the pixel device for the app and telephone application. These functions should be better calls from fraud calls and SMS.
Call identification for calls
Google started a beta to detect real-time fraud when calling telephone calls in November. The processing is directly driven to the device to detect the types of suspicious conversations without storing the content of the call. This function should be protected against fraudsters who for example, pretending to be a bank employee and asks sensitive information or transfer of money.

When this national fraud is recognized, the pixel smartphone shakes an acostic signal and gives output. At the same time, the warning appears on the display, similarly: “The suspicious activity with this call was recognized”. The user may cancel the call or understand the software that it is not a spam.
New Pixel 9 uses the Gemi Nano model for this detection, while the old devices of Pixel 6+ use Google’s other machine learning models that are not so strong.
Protection against fraud news
Google messages also complement through the increased protective process that warns about the fraudulent SMS, especially. The detection initially focuses on the distribution of parcel and job search messages, which appear innocent but can eventually lead to fraud. To detect, Google uses machine learning directly to the device. Beta tests began in October 2024.
