Share car access through the app
For a while now, Pixel smartphones have been able to share digital car keys with other Pixel models and iPhones via Google Wallet. Google is now extending support to select Xiaomi smartphones.
The Android app, which was rebranded from Google Pay to Google Wallet in July, can not only be used for mobile payments, but can store customer cards, flight tickets, movie tickets and the like. Even digital car keys can be stored in the Wallet app. In December, Google released several new features, including an option for Android Share digital car keys.
Until now, digital car keys could only be shared from Pixel smartphones. how GoogleWatchBlog As reported, the information has now surfaced in the Google System Update changelog that the option is also available for Xiaomi devices.

The changelog entry does not reveal when and on which model the function will work. Currently, it should only work via NFC, since the Xiaomi model does not support Ultra Wideband (UWB), not even the Xiaomi 13 model. Only iPhones, some Samsung Galaxy S models, and the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro (test) can handle UWB.
