Google is working in some areas to make ChromeOS and Android more closely connected in the near future
A few weeks ago, ChromeOS for Google Pixel appeared for the first time and it was expected that Google will develop a new desktop mode for Pixel devices. Google claims that this is not the case. But now the world looks completely different again, as ChromeOS will soon be fundamentally based on Android.
And coincidentally, Google now has a new 1-click solution (codename: FerroChrome) to run ChromeOS in a virtual machine on a Pixel phone. This looks like a pretty exciting project that is currently being developed according to publicly available source code. Pixel devices need a proper desktop mode anyway.
Just a few days ago, Google announced that ChromeOS will soon be based on Android at its core. Essentially, both systems have the same basic building blocks with Linux. The point of this integration is that we want to make AI and other new functions available in ChromeOS faster
