Tomorrow, February 14, it will finally be released Madam Webb, the first of three Sony films in his own Spider-Man universe, hitting theaters this year. Thus, the reviews are already here and as expected, The film has had nothing but positive reception.
With about 50 reviews, Madam Webb It has a 19% rating on Rotten TomatoesWhich places this film above 15% MorbiusBut that’s beneath what the two Venom films have achieved. In this regard, this is The Wrap’s opinion:
“Not only does the latest addition to the Marvel canon lack a true emotional core, it lacks many of the key elements that make a film successful in translating from the screen to the psyche of the audience.”
For their part, The Rolling Stones commented:
“It’s Cats: The Superhero Movie Movie. Neither decision makes sense. Neither performance seems consistent with the material.”
IGN Movies noted the following:
“Madame Web tries to connect many plots and people to a confusing but ultimately flexible result.”
Similarly, Vanity Fair pointed out:
“Basically, the film is a Pepsi ad oddly populated with low-level performances. Johnson, so beloved in films as diverse as 50 Shades of Gray and Suspiria, is a minimalist performer. “His selection here is an unfortunate mistake.”
Also, this is the polygon view:
““Madame Web may be the most shameless superhero movie of all time… Sony’s latest Marvel release is a two-hour post-credits scene, held together only by Dakota Johnson’s underrated comedic chops.”
so how are you There are more reviews from various media indicating that Madam Webb It is one of the worst movies of the year. As with other similar works, the only thing that attracts attention is the post-credits scene that points to an expanding universe, but when all the films we’ve seen are disappointing, it seems that no one is interested in this category anymore.
We remind you that Madam Webb It will hit the theaters on February 14, 2024. On a related note, this is what Dakota Johnson looks like in the film’s lead role Likewise, here you can watch the first trailer Deadpool and Wolverine.
Editor’s note:
I don’t understand how Sony makes such bad movies out of the Spider-Man universe. From The Amazing Spider-Man they dropped pure garbage with this property. The only redeemable thing is Venom, and that’s just for the comic factor. I hope they abandon all their plans soon.
