PS5 pre-order information
The first PS5 pre-orders went live on September 17. However, spammers, and likely some bots, quickly bought up the first batches of pre-orders for the consoles. They went so fast, Sony posted a brief note on the official PlayStation Twitter account admitting that the process “could have been a lot smoother.” It added that it will release more PS5 consoles for pre-order soon and that the console’s main retailers will issue alerts when they will become available.
Where can I pre-order a PS5?
If you see a site claiming that they’re taking pre-orders right for the PS5, it’s probably a scam. Stick with reputable large brands that you know when it comes to pre-ordering something as large as the newest PlayStation console. Some of the reputable stores you should look at for pre-orders once they are available again include Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and GameStop
All of these retailers are already set up to take online pre-orders. You can sign up for e-mail updates with your favorite stores so you can be one of the first to know when pre-orders go live once again.
What PS5 pre-order bundles or deals does Sony have?
At the moment, there’s no word on what PS5 pre-order bundles (consoles with games included) will be available. The most likely games that could be a part of a PS5 pre-order bundle include:
- Call of Duty
- FIFA 21
- Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Both Xbox and Nintendo have previously moved to digital codes for games included in console bundles. We’re hoping that Sony continues to provide physical copies of bundled games because it adds to their resale value, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
If I pre-order a PS5, when do I have to pay?
Large retailers like Target, BestBuy, etc. will likely require a deposit to secure your PS5 pre-order when they start up again. The deposit for the PS5 should range anywhere from $50-100. This deposit should go towards the cost of your PS5, and you’ll just have to pay the remainder when you pick it up.
Or, if you order it online to be shipped to you, your card will likely just be charged the full amount when the console ships out to you.
What games will launch with the PS5 console?
Sony has announced that will be launching alongside the PS5 console. Some will be available on the launch date, and others will be released in the weeks after launch (also known as the “launch window”).
