So the recent leak wasn’t a slip up after all? A legacy of Lumia is apparently still in the works
According to a new leak, Nokia maker HMD Global is working on another smartphone called the HMD Skyline G2. It could be the successor to the recently leaked HMD Skyline, although the first model is yet to be officially unveiled.
Just like the first Skyline smartphone, the G2 model will also have a triple camera. Exact camera specifications have yet to be determined, but tipster @smashx_60 is on board, however, insisting that HMD primarily wants to appeal to photographers with the Skyline G2.
The most noticeable difference between the first Skyline and the G2 is the display bezel. While the first model had a thick chin but relatively thin bezels on the sides and top, the G2 appears to have thicker bezels on both the top and bottom.
Unlike the first Skyline, for which extensive specifications and pricing information has already been leaked, fewer details are available about the G2 so far. If there’s more to report, you’ll definitely read about it here on the blog.
I don’t think the path HMD Global is taking is bad at all. A slightly unusual design might be just what the struggling brand needed. Of course, hardware and software also play a role, but in the highly competitive smartphone market, looks shouldn’t be underestimated.
