Last year iOS 16 gave us the ability to crop subjects from photos. It was fun! But what to do was not entirely clear again with you. That changes with iOS 17, which is currently in public beta. You can download it now or wait for the full release in the fall, but either way you’ll find a great way to use your clippings: turn them into stickers.
I know. I was also skeptical. But trust me: iOS 17’s stickers are worth your time, especially in iMessage. You will impress and impress all your friends when you turn an angry photo of your cat into a reaction and everyone will want to know how you did it. You can tell them what we told you, or keep it to yourself and take all the credit for it, like an Apple Genius Bar. There is no judgement
Find out how to do it. (I followed these steps on my iPhone 13 mini running iOS 17 developer beta.)
You can access your stickers anytime using Apple’s iOS keyboard. To access the emojis, just tap on the smiley face icon and scroll to the far left of the page frequently used painting. There you will find all your recently used stickers and a shortcut to access all your stickers. Just tap on the sticker you want to use. Note, however, that outside of iMessage, it will only appear as a PNG image. The best way to use them is through the walled garden of Apple’s Messaging app:
