(Pocket-Lint) – Like Zoom, the Microsoft team is constantly improving with new updates to help us work and communicate remotely. One such update is the ability to add backgrounds to your calls to hide the clutter and clutter of your world or just add some jazz stuff.
If you’re wondering how to add background to your calls, you’ve come to the right place We are going to show you how to select a new call background and which background to use for best results.
How to blur your background in Microsoft teams
If you don’t necessarily want to use a fake background, the team has the answer if the people on your call don’t want to see your kids hang out or look less than your professional backdrop.
Using a basic setting you can obscure your call background by keeping yourself in focus.
The process of blurring your background is simple enough. When you start a call to teams, you’ll see a purple slider next to the video option. Use that slider to blur your webcam background before the call starts
If you are already in a call, you can hover your cursor at the bottom of the call window and you will see a menu icon. Click on it and select the “Blur My Background” option.
Using a default team background
If background blurring doesn’t cut it completely, you can go one step further with the default backgrounds available within the team. There are several backgrounds to choose from in the general office scene or something more luxurious.
It’s also easy enough to use a pre-installed team background. When you’re connecting a call to teams, you’ll see an option with a slider next to the camera icon. Using it you can turn on the virtual background and then you will have the ability to select the background of your choice.
How to use your own backgrounds in Microsoft teams
It is now possible to add your own custom images from your PC and use them as a background for your Microsoft team call. You can select the defaults or click “Add New” and upload your own files.
Microsoft has an excellent selection Pictures available for download here But if you have access to your own personal photos, you can use them instead.
Add your picture
To add your own pictures, click the Add New button, find the appropriate folder on your PC and upload them. Images need to be a good size for best results – 1920 x 1080 seems like a smart choice. They must be JPG or PNG.
Once uploaded, you can only follow the same procedure that you want to choose a default image. Click on the slider next to the camera icon and the default images should appear as normal. Scroll through them and you will see what you have added. Choose the one you want and you’re away.
Family members
We’ve already put together a list of the best backgrounds to use for zoom calls, so it makes sense to recommend some good backgrounds for the team to use as well.
