- The Huawei P Smart 2021 is heading to the UK.
- Huawei’s mid-range device features a larger display, battery, and more cameras than its predecessor.
- It’ll be available starting October 22 from Huawei, retailers, and operators.
After announcing the P Smart 2021 at the end of September, Huawei is now bringing the budget device to UK shores.
Unlike the previous iteration, the new P Smart is seemingly focused on enlarging everything, from display size to battery capacity, in a bid to entice Western buyers who may be put off by the lack of Google services.
Design, specs, and features
Visually, the new P Smart is reminiscent of the Huawei P40 line, featuring a large rectangular camera array at the rear with a punch-hole camera in the top-center of the screen. That screen measures 6.67-inches from corner to corner, much larger than the P Smart 2020’s modest 6.2-inch display. Although it’s substantially larger, the P Smart 2021’s screen doesn’t pack many more pixels with a 2,400 x 1,080 resolution. The device’s size also allows Huawei to slap in a 5,000mAh battery. Again, that’s some 1,600mAh larger than the P Smart 2020. To top it up, 22.5W charging is also provided.

Internally, the Kirin 710A powers the phone alongside 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The latter can be bolstered by a microSD card, too.
At the rear, Huawei slapped four cameras on the P Smart 2021 headlined by a 48MP primary snapper. An 8MP ultra-wide shooter, 2MP macro camera, and 2MP depth sensor join the lineup. An 18MP selfie snapper resides in the punch hole.
Other niceties include a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
As the P Smart 2021 is a Huawei phone launched in 2020, it doesn’t arrive with Google services or apps. EMUI 10.1 comes installed, while your app fix can be sated by the AppGallery or an alternative app store.
