- Huawei will announce several new devices on September 10.
- The company has teased what looks like the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro.
- Huawei will also launch the new FreeBuds Pro TWS earbuds at the event.
The 2020 edition of Huawei’s annual developer conference — HDC — kicks off on September 10. All eyes are on what the Chinese company will say in relation to its heightened tensions with the US government. There’s no word on the future of Huawei’s mobile software ecosystem or its Kirin chips yet, but the company has confirmed a number of new accessories slated to launch on September 10.
First off, we could see the much-awaited Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro at the event. Huawei’s teaser image for the launch posted on Weibo matches the leaked renders of the Watch GT 2 Pro that we saw last week. The smartwatch is rumored to get Qi wireless charging support this time around, something that was missing from its predecessor. Not much else seems to be changing, and there’s no word on what software the GT 2 Pro will get. Although with the company’s expired US license, we don’t expect the Watch GT 2 Pro to come bearing Google’s Wear OS software. Then again, Wear OS is open source and Huawei could base the software on it.
Apart from the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro, the company has also confirmed the launch of the Huawei FreeBuds Pro. The Pro version of the TWS earbuds promises better Active Noise Cancellation, which is something we sorely missed in the FreeBuds 3.
Huawei is also teasing new neckband style earphones for the September 10 event. The company already launched similar Bluetooth earphones called the Huawei FreeLace Pro back in August, and we think that it could be merely showing them off again on the HDC stage.
We might also get another look at the Huawei Watch Fit at the conference in China. The new smartwatch, which looks like a slimmer Apple Watch, is already available in Dubai, and Huawei could launch it for its home market at the event.
Tune in to Android Authority on September 10 to know all about Huawei’s announcements from HDC 2020.
