Have you ever felt that sports games just needed a little something extra? Some futuristic weapons perhaps? Maybe some superhero-like abilities? Well, you’re in luck, because our upcoming sports-brawler, HyperBrawl Tournament, has all that and more. Let’s jump in!
HyperCurve your way to victory
In HyperBrawl, your ultimate goal is to outscore your opponent. Because simply throwing a ball isn’t necessarily that exciting on its own, we added a twist; the HyperCurve. This gravity-defying ability lets you control the ball mid-air, which helps you avoid opponents and obstacles – or, you know, accidentally knocking out your teammate, if they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. The HyperCurve also just happens to be pretty sweet for scoring epic goals by the way. Check out the video below for a quick rundown of how it works.
Weapons can make all the difference, so choose wisely
HyperBrawl has a bunch of different weapons. These range from offensive options like the Slam Hammer, great for KO’ing opponents, to more defensive ones like the Sentry Shield, which can block incoming throws. You pick your weapon loadout before every match, and since you can see what your opponent is going with, I definitely recommend keeping an eye on their selections, so you can counter if need be. Going into a match with the right loadout at the right time goes a long way toward securing that win.
Assemble your team
Weapons aren’t the only thing you’ve got to think about going into a match. Each team picks two heroes (of our 12 available at launch) who come in three different classes. The Swift heroes are fast and agile, but easier to knock out. The Tank heroes are slow but durable, and can make for great goalkeepers. Finally, the Core heroes are somewhere in the middle, if you prefer a more balanced approach.
Any hero can use any weapon, so it’s entirely up to you how you prefer to play. HyperBrawl also includes a ton of customisation options unlocked through gameplay, so no matter who you brawl with, you’ll look awesome doing it!
Play online or offline, alone or with friends
HyperBrawl is for everyone, as it’s easy to pick up, but allows for a ton of room to grow, if you want to become one of the very best. A great place to start are the Trials and Advanced Trials, which not only take you through the game’s very basics, but also test your skills and everything you’ve learned. This is a great way to practice without needing to deal with pesky opponents.
Once you know the fundamentals, we’ve got a single-player campaign, where you’ll be competing for some pretty sweet in-game trophies across a number of difficulty levels. If you feel up to the challenge, you can jump into Blitz, which is our main online mode, complete with global leaderboards ranked by Wins, KOs and Goals. This is where you can see how you stack up against the world.
If you want to play with your friends, you can invite up to 3 others, either locally or online, and our Party system allows you to combine local and online players any way you want.
A power-up to even the odds
I started this blog by teasing superhero-like abilities, but have only mentioned one so far; let’s throw in a second one for good measure.
For the times where things just aren’t going your way, you’re able to channel the HyperForce, which boosts your hero strength and speed to help even the odds. When activated, your character is even hit by a lightning strike, so your opponent knows you mean business. Beware, however, as HyperForce makes you strong – but not invincible. Check out the video below for more on this powerful ability.
