Ikea has announced a new smart hub and app that will arrive later this year. The hub is called late and it will be matter-ready. The hub will be accompanied by the release of the company’s new Ikea Home smart app.
In 2014, Ikea launched it Trådfri Smart Hub, Which handles the smart products that Ikea now sells. According to user feedback, the hub is limited to the products it supports, and the app associated with it is not the easiest to use. Trådfri is the primary way to connect Ikea’s lights, speakers, blinds and an air purifier that is now available. With that response, Ikea has begun work on a new smart home hub and companion app – Log in late.
Thinner design, more connectivity
The latter will enable more features and be able to integrate with more compatible devices – thanks to Matter. Since the late hub is mater-ready, it will be able to work with other mater-capable smart home devices regardless of manufacturer. Also, Digirera supports ZigBee and Wi-Fi.
The new Ikea Home smart app will prioritize user-friendliness and stability. Users will be able to add views and groups with personalization options, preset functions. You’ll be able to use the app to quickly unboard all current and future Ikea smart products and then manage them individually or in groups.
Next year, the company plans to unveil more features, such as being able to control your smart home while away. You will be able to connect to your router with Wi-Fi and not just use your Ethernet. We will learn more about the cost of the hub in October 2022, when the product is expected to hit the market.
