(Pocket-Lint) – Meta Teen has announced the launch of some new parental control tools designed to help Instagram users maintain their mental health.
The new tools allow parents to set a daily time limit of 15-minutes to 2 hours, after which a black screen blocks access to the app.
Invitations can now be sent by parents to enable parental control, where it must first be initiated by the child.
Parents will also be able to schedule breaks, as well as have access to data if a child reports to another Instagram account.

There is another feature called “Naz” which is being tried at the moment. The Naz feature will persuade younger users to try out different things, if they continue to search for the same thing.
In addition to Instagram, Meta is launching a parental dashboard Quest VR headset.
VR tools include the need to approve purchases, block specific apps, manage screen time, and view the teen’s friend list.
Some parenting tools were already available to US Instagram users, and these additions are now available to those users as well.
Outside of the United States, the tools began rolling out this month to users in the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, Ireland, Canada, France and Germany. Meta plans to expand it to all users worldwide by the end of the year.
