A few days ago it was revealed that Denuvo, the controversial PC anti-hacking system developed by Eradeto, is coming Nintendo Switch Named Nintendo Switch Emulator Protection Solution. Apart from all the concerns about this software, Many wonder if Nintendo is involved in the process.. This way, we already have an official answer.
Through a statement shared by Kotaku, A Denuvo representative clarified that Nintendo is not involved in this new Switch DRM initiative.. Instead, it was a decision that was made while considering the demands of Iredeto’s partners to include this system in the switch. What was said about it was:
“Due to confidentiality agreements, we cannot disclose the names of the companies, but we can say that this solution came about due to strong demand from publisher partners. The software publisher and Denuvo care a lot about providing the best gaming experience. The protection is designed not to affect the player experience and has no impact on game performance. It’s the same for this new solution when protection is enabled only on non-performance critical parts of the code.”
Denuvo also mentioned how the Switch’s technology will not require online control and is a solution designed entirely for offline use. nevertheless, Some members of the hacking and modding community have pointed out that Nintendo needs to get involved In a certain way in this process, since the approval of the Japanese company is required to offer this type of software. Luigiblood, the programmer, commented:
“It may not be obvious, but this anti-emulation system has to be approved within Nintendo’s requirements, because otherwise it won’t pass much control.
It can’t even be a DRM measure: Nintendo is the only one with DRM controls on their systems. It’s Denuvo in name only.”

It remains to be seen which games will use this system and how they will perform. Let’s note that Denuevo has caused problems with the performance of games on PC. On a related note, you can learn more about the program’s arrival on Switch here.
