Is Xiaomi finally offering an update guarantee for Redmi smartphones?

An update guarantee should finally come to Xiaomi’s Redmi brand.

Shortly after the beginning of the year, we got the first new Android smartphones from Xiaomi, and the Redmi Note 13 devices have been available even in German stores for days. More exciting details are now leaking in terms of device software and future.

A colleague of ours wants to reveal that Xiaomi plans an update guarantee for new models for the first time This is very welcome news and exactly the point we have been most critical of in the past. A total of three Android updates and a four-year guarantee of new security updates are planned.

Since devices still start with Android 13, the guarantee will only apply to Android 14, 15 and 16. It’s ok, but not famous. MIUI 14 should be the current tool with which devices come into your home However, I can’t believe the second part of the rumor, that there will be no switch to HyperOS.

Exclusive: All Redmi Note 13 series phones will ship in India as well as globally, based on Android 13 with MIUI 14.

All phones will get 3 years of Android updates (up to Android 16) and 4 years of security updates.
