Even if Samsung doesn’t use a simple camera bump on its flagship phones, as is the case with other manufacturers, the cameras still extend beyond the back. This should be reduced again in the future with new camera systems.
Maybe even in the near future, because Samsung is planning a new Galaxy S25 Slim for 2025 and could use completely new technology. it saysThat Samsung is relying on the new ALoP technology.
“All Lenses in Prism” allows for a different camera setup. In previous periscope systems, the camera with all components stood vertically in the housing, the prism enabling a view of the outside. Not ideal, but by far the common solution on most cell phones with lots of zoom.
The new system does not arrange the lens between the image sensor and the prism, but above the prism and therefore like a normal camera. This allows for larger lenses, which in turn improves light capture.
It also produces a nicer picture from the outside, as such a periscope camera would be circular and not rectangular.
The new technology will eventually be able to reduce the size of the camera, which is perfect for the Galaxy S25 Slim with an extra thin body. The comparison from Samsung clearly shows this.
Samsung’s use of the new technology is yet to be confirmed. However, the manufacturer will present the Galaxy S25 series in less than three weeks and then may give a glimpse of the Galaxy S25 Slim for the first time.
