Panasonic has announced that the new firmware for the Lumix GH6 will be available on July 5, 2022, with ProRes RAW recording up to 119.88p in DCI 4K and camera up to 59.94p in 5.7K on the Atmos Ninja. Will bring V +. The original Ninja V only supports DCI 4K up to 59.94p and 5.7 up to 29.97p, so newer V + is needed for higher frame rate options.
Anamorphic shooters will get ProRes RAW 4: 3 at 5.8K up to 29.97p and 4.4K up to 59.94p with Ninja V +, or 5.8KA up to 25p with the original Ninja V +.
Further new features added to the Lumix GH6 will include new internal ProRes 422 HQ and 422 recording codecs at lower resolutions than the current 5.7K option. Users will be able to record up to 59.94p in DCI 4K or 1080. Low resolution and bitrate 1080 ProRes recordings allow direct SD card as well as CFexpress slots: Currently all ProRes recordings need to be recorded on a CFexpress card.
Firmware announcements do not mention regular, 16: 9 UHD 4K resolution ProRes or ProRes RAW, or ProRes options for anamorphic recordings. Not to mention the GH6’s promised ability to record to an external hard drive via USB-C.

Newark, NJ (June 7, 2022) – Panasonic has announced that the company will release the firmware update program Ver.2.0 for LUMIX GH6 to enhance performance and usability. Together with ATOMOS, a global company that develops innovative technologies and cloud services for filmmakers everywhere, Panasonic has developed new firmware that records RAW video data up to 5.8K / 29.97p and C4K / 119.88p on HDMI as Apple ProRes. Enables to. ATOMOS NINJA V and RAW on NINJA V + devices.
Launched in February 2022, the highly respected LUMIX GH6 has been recognized for exceptional video performance and management among existing and new GH users worldwide. Over time, GH6 will evolve with firmware updates to further improve its performance and usability to meet the changing needs of manufacturers.

2. C4K 60p / FHD 60p internal recording is available in ProRes 422 HQ / ProRes 422.
With this update, it is possible to load low compression and high-quality data directly to the PC without transcoding for smooth NLE (non-linear editing).
